#SoL20- Day 6- Just What I Needed!

#sol20- March 6, 2020

I am not sure how a four day can feel so very long, but this week did. Luckily today was “First Friday”. There is an artisanal gin distillery, Seekers,  on my street that I have been meaning to try. A colleague talks about their “First Friday” happy hour, so we agreed to meet there at 5. By the time I got there, we were a group of five (a sixth came later) and I enjoyed the atmosphere and a very large gin drink-a perfect refresher. None of us was looking for a late-night, so one drink was enough and we topped it off with a delicious dinner just two blocks away at a barbecue restaurant. Most chose ribs, but I went for a pulled pork plate served with coleslaw and potato salad. None of us are big meat eaters, but it was delicious and the table was very quiet once the meals arrived. Although the conversation was lively as we finished our meals and patted our food babies a bit of a food coma settled in and we headed out the door just after eight I knew it would be hard to even get these few words on the page. What a great start to my weekend!

  1. Sounds like a great start to your weekend! Great food, company, and sounds like a contented feeling by all. Nice description of desiring to be together, despite being tired.

  2. Love the start to your weekend! It’s so amazing what some good company and conversation can do to put you in the spirit to enjoy some much deserved rest and relaxation.

  3. Sounds like a great start to a Friday night! 🙂 You’re in PP right? What school? A friend and colleague of mine is moving to PP next year to teach. I wonder if you’ll be at the same school.
