It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? August 26, 2013

August 26, 2013

Bah ha ha ha! Can you say “back to school busy”?!? Last Monday was the first day of our teacher work days. We had three days of meetings and get the classroom ready time (actually 2 1/2 because we had orientation on Wednesday afternoon). The only book I managed to read was The Surprise Attack of Jabba the Puppett by Tom Angleberger. It was (no surprise) awesome! At the end of summer reading/ice cream party I had with last year’s students P said he had it and was reading it too. I appreciate the surprise near the end of the book and I look forward to the next installment in the spring.

I put up a “Do You Know These Book Characters?” display (inspired by Franki Sibberson) and many kids in my new class recognized Origami Yoda as Yoda, so I look forward to introducing this series to my new students.

I have started Violet Mackerel’s Brilliant Plot– more on that next week.

For those of you starting back at school this week- enjoy!

Happy reading!

Don’t forget to look at and for more great reads!
